This is a really easy weeknight dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes. A delicious bowl with honey soy sesame sauce glazed salmon bites. I made a side of sautéed vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, French beans with onions and garlic) and basmati rice, but any other veggies, steamed or sautéed will be great.
Ingredients for salmon bites:
1 pound salmon, cut in 1.5 inch cubes
2 tbsp sesame oil,
2 tbsp honey,
2 tbsp soy sauce
vegetable oil to fry
sesame seeds to garnish
Step 1: cut salmon into 1.5 inch cubes. If the salmon cut has skin on, it needs to be removed first or alternatively fry with the skin on. Turns out delicious as well!
Step 2: Whisk together sesame oil, honey and soy sauce. Place salmon bites in, cover with sauce from all sides and marinade for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: while the salmon is marinating? Prepare any side dish of your choice: rice, fried or steamed vegetables, rice noodles, are all great options.
Step 4: Fry the bites in oil for a few minutes from both sides. Do not crowd the pan. Fry in couple of batches if necessary. They cook really fast. As bites are almost done, pour the leftover marinade sauce over salmon and cook another few minutes until the sauce thickens.
Step 4: Top with optional sesame seeds and enjoy with your choice of sides in a bowl 💚
